Imago Micro to distribute Avid Xpress DV

Imago Micro have teamed up with Avid Technology, specialists in video, animation and special effects solutions, to distribute Avid's Xpress DV editing product.
Imago will use their extensive experience in the video communications market to help Avid open up new channel relations, and reinforce their existing reseller base across the UK.
Xpress DV combines the industry-standard Avid interface with over 100 customisable real-time effects and a professional performance for video editors. Suitable for a wide range of users from small production companies and corporate video departments through to semi-professional videographers, Xpress DV is a turnkey system with high-end 2D and 3D options.
Avid launched the latest version of Xpress DV, version 3, earlier this year. Among its features are real-time effects such as dissolves, titles, picture-in-picture, and colour and motion effects – with multiple simultaneous real-time streams to produce expert quality layering. Xpress DV version 3 previews these effects onscreen exactly as they will appear when rendered.
The software package is suitable for Windows users and another will be made available for Macintosh users. Avid also provides Xpress DV as part of a film-oriented bundle aimed at educational institutions, as a ‘Power Pack’ containing a wide variety of third-party plug-ins and applications, and as an affordable pack aimed at students.
