Merseyside Police purchase Sony DVCAM

Merseyside Police have invested in new Sony digital-video editing technology, supplied by Warrington-based Jigsaw Audio Visual.
The regional police force have bought a Sony DVCAM format ES-3 non-linear editor (NLE), which compliments their extensive investment in production and post-production equipment based on this professional 6mm digital video format.
The ES-3 workstation has been installed at the Learning Development Unit of the Force Training Centre at Allerton, Liverpool. Within weeks of its installation, video producer Iain Hitchmough had used the ES-3 to complete a major crime prevention project and has identified a number of strengths in the workstation's operating system.
He said: "ES-3 reinforces our DVCAM investment since it provides great flexibility in editing, particularly in its numerous outputs. The system can lay-off to tape, provide raw materials for DVD-video authoring or encode material for the Internet. In today's multimedia environment this advanced functionality and versatility is invaluable."
