Cinemagic launch competition for young talent
Cinemagic, a leading World Screen Festival for Young People, is on the search for new talent.
Anyone who is interested in acting, cinematography, directing, script writing, composing, producing, presenting, special effects or animation, should enter the Cinemagic event for an opportunity to break into the industry.
If you are aged between 18-25 and want practical experience, advice and would like the opportunity to win an award, Cinemagic want to hear from you.
Cinemagic is hosting the second Cinemagic Talent Lab and Unlocking Talent Award at W5 - the interactive discovery centre - in the Odyssey Complex, Belfast, between the December 5-8. The event comprises of three days of opportunities to learn about film, TV and new media industries, including from professionals representing Aardman, The Matrix and T4.
During the Talent Lab a national panel of judges from the industry will assess individuals and those who show the most potential in their chosen field will receive a Cinemagic Unlocking Talent Award.
Last year's 10 winners enjoyed work placements within the industry, further training or mentoring from the stars, and were all invited as VIP delegates to the Celtic Film and Television Festival in Brittany, France.
“I learnt more in two days than I have after two years of film theory classes and the Lab gave me the confidence to pick up a camera and just do it,” said past participant Seana Kane from Belfast.
For details of how to apply contact Kerry on 028 9031 1900 before the August 31 deadline.
