LaCie gains certification for Pinnacle's editing systems

LaCie have announced that their high-speed Ultra160 RAID tower, the TX12000, has been certified for use with Pinnacle Systems’ standard definition CinéWave, CinéWave HD high-definition and CinéWave RT real-time editing systems.
Pinnacle Systems tested and approved use of the CinéWave video-editing system with LaCie’s TX12000 RAID subsystem equipped with Maxtor’s Atlas 10K III Ultra SCSI hard drives.
The pairing of LaCie’s TX12000 with CinéWave will produce high-quality uncompressed video on Apple’s Power Mac G4 computer. The TX12000 is ideal for demanding professional video applications, with Ultra160 LVD components, high-speed 7200 rpm and 10,000 rpm hard drives available in 36GB, 73GB and 180GB capacities and scalability of up to 12 hard drives.
"The TX12000 has been thoroughly tested and found to deliver the high performance necessary for full-quality uncompressed editing with CinéWave," said Pinnacle Systems Senior Product Manager Andrew Baum. "Used together, these two products provide exceptional digital video-editing and storage capabilities for the video professional using high-end applications."
CinéWave, the first comprehensive uncompressed solution, includes a full version of the award-winning Final Cut Pro, Pinnacle Systems Commotion Pro, Knoll Light Factory and the TARGA Ciné Engine.
CinéWave provides advanced non-linear editing, unlimited layering, uncompressed real-time effects, motion tracker, paint and compositing tools.
QuickTime native from start to finish, CinéWave is scalable, flexible and designed to work in a wide range of environments including: DV, DigiBeta, uncompressed 601, PAL, NTSC, 1080i, 1080p, 4:3, 16:9, DVD and web.
LaCie’s TX12000 is a high-speed RAID subsystem designed for use with applications that demand fast data throughput, reliable fault tolerance and high levels of security. Available in tower or rack configuration, the TX12000 also provides centralised data storage, simple management and spacious storage capacity, with flexible scalability up to 24 hot-swappable hard drives, by daisy chaining two TX12000 towers together.
