AES Workshops Revealed By APRS
This year's London AES (May 13-16 at the Novotel) is aiming to make itself more accessible, both to members and non-members, and more responsive to those who actually practice audio engineering.
The professional recording association, APRS, has announced the presentation of five 'Platinum Producer' events at this year's AES.
The series highlights a new relationship with Digital Village whose 'DV247' on-line community is helping the APRS re-focus the approach to key event workshops and seminars at the Convention.
Three of the APRS series titled 'Talkback Pro' presented by APRS / DV247, will offer a 90 minute focus on practical aspects of developing a production studio environment to the professional standards recognized in a commercial recording sector.
Supporting the seminars will be a dedicated DV247 booth in the AES Convention exhibition that offers direct access to advice on techniques and equipment that feature in each of the discussions.
The APRS/DV247 events provide panels of users, observers, experts, manufacturers and enthusiasts an opportunity to discuss the secrets of accurate 'Acoustic Treatment for Small Spaces', the truths behind juggling the signal-chain in 'Lead me down the Signal Path' and 'The Myths and Mysteries of DSP' sets the digital cats amongst the plug-n pigeons in an exploration from interface to broadcast.
In addition to the daily technology based workshops, the APRS is presenting two special presentations: one by former artist, producer and educator, Barry Marshall called 'The First Producer Phil Spector and the Legacy of the Svengali Producer'.
