APRS & AES Team Up For Munich... And Beyond...

UK exhibitors at the forthcoming AES Convention at the M.O.C. Munich (May 8 - 10) will be able to take advantage of the unique relationship between the APRS, the AES and UKTI, the branch of the UK government responsible for supporting export, by taking up a discounted booth rate in an APRS/UKTI Village area that boasts a free hospitality suite and, for qualifying companies, a grant of up to £1,400 toward the booth hire costs.
All exhibitors taking space under this scheme will benefit from around a 10% discount (dependent upon exchange rates) on a fully fitted out booth - with carpet, a welcoming desk, a high stool, a meeting table and 4 chairs and an array of three spotlights. A 3m x 3m 'Plug and Play' booth with 'all the trimmings' situated within the APRS Village can cost as little as £2,500.
In addition, the APRS has 10 full UKTI TAP (Trade Access Programme) grants designed for companies new to export and new to market but the rules have been relaxed a little so that some more experienced export manufacturers may qualify.
This could allow ten qualifying manufacturers to enjoy a fully equipped booth for around £1,100. Grants are allocated on a first come, first served basis and are subject to approval by UKTI.
A grant scheme will be in place for the AES in New York in October and earlier applications for support for the New York show will receive application priority and attract special benefits - be sure to stake your claim for BOTH shows ASAP.
Peter Filleul, Executive Director of the APRS, said: "In the past only three grants were available for the lifetime of a company, but an extra chance is now being offered for those wishing to reinforce their presence in this very technological and fast-changing sector.
"We are also planning a special reception to which UK exhibitors can invite their customers and meet the leading players in the European professional audio community."
The APRS has been working with the AES and other trade bodies to find ways to respond to the increasingly difficult economic climate and export support is high on the agenda.
