APRS Launches The Harewood Toast At Sound Fellowship Lunch

The annual APRS Sound Fellowship Lunch to be held at the Roof Gardens, Kensington on November 17 will see the inauguration of a unique 'keynote' address by way of proposing a special Harewood Toast.
The introduction of the Harewood Toast to the proceedings is designed to provide an opportunity for a prominent member of the music, film and TV businesses to speak about the relationships they have with the studios and service providers that make their products.
The inaugural proposer of the Harewood Toast will be Jeremy Lascelles, CEO of Chrysalis Music who is the son of the Earl of Harewood, the founding President of the APRS and its current Patron.
Peter Filleul, Executive Director of the APRS, said: "We are honoured that Lord Harewood has agreed to the use of his name for this part of our annual celebration and it is particularly fitting that Jeremy should be the first to propose it.
"We see the Harewood Toast as an opportunity to recognise the same spirit and enthusiasm for recording that existed back in 1947 when Lord Harewood became the first President of the APRS."
The APRS's annual celebration, hosted by Sir George and Lady Martin, sees the recognition of six new recipients of the APRS Sound Fellowship bestowed on individuals who made a "significant contribution to the art, science or business of sound recording".
This year the association is recognising:
  • Bob Clearmountain - Prominent US producer and pro-audio manufacturer
  • Phil Dudderidge - Pro-audio equipment marketeer, founder of Soundcraft and developer of Focusrite/Novation
  • Peter Gabriel - Artist, composer, innovator, studio owner and world music campaigner
  • Steve Lillywhite - Exceptional and prolific UK producer of U2, the Rolling Stones and many more
  • Trevor Horn - Legendary producer of Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Seal, label and studio owner
  • Robin Millar - Producer, studio owner, campaigner and producer representative
Tickets for the lunch can be booked online by going to: www.aprs.co.uk or phone APRS Head Office - 01803 868600. Special discounts are available for APRS and other trade body members.
