Wendelin Sachtler Academy Offers Professional Lighting Workshops

This year, the Wendelin Sachtler Academy is again offering two workshops on creative professional lighting.
Both courses take place at the Academy Studio in Ealing, with Advanced Professional Lighting taking place between October 27-31 and Basics of Professional Lighting taking place between November 25-28.
The German cameraman and lecturer Leo W. Borchard will conduct the seminars, in which qualified support and useful know-how on creative lighting will be conveyed.
Based on their knowledge, participants can either attend Basics of Professional Lighting or Advanced Professional Lighting. The filmmakers will learn to deal with professional lighting equipment step-by-step: from the safe use of the equipment up to the optimum use of all product properties.
After completion of the theoretical part on the basics of creative lighting, the technology of the lamps as well as photometry and colorimetry, the acquired knowledge can be put into action immediately in numerous practical exercises - inside the studio and outdoors. The light conditions continuously present new challenges at different times of the day and night.
These workshops' focus will be on evaluating types of lighting and techniques, as well as hands-in experiences with different light sources. One important factor is that experiences can be exchanged with participants of various branches, who also attend the seminar.
Seminar manager Leo W. Borchard states that: "Within a short time a study-group is developing - a team that decisively completes practical basic tests, learns to master photographic styles and illuminates and creates complex documentary and scenic sets."
All participants will receive a certificate of the Wendelin Sachtler Academy at the end of the workshop, stating the covered topics.
The cost for the workshop Basics of Professional Lighting is €830 (plus VAT), while the research seminar Advanced Professional Lighting is €890 (plus VAT).
