Bright Space Allows Touchscreen On Stargazing Live Over Fibre

Bright Space Technologies, trade distributor to the AV and broadcast industry has provided a MultiDyne USB 2000 fibre link to BBC2's groundbreaking programme Stargazing Live.
The MultiDyne USB 2000 was loaned in order to link the 65" Philips touch screen with the graphics PC located in the Jodrell Bank Observatory more than 30 metres away, allowing viewers to see impressive images of the planets in our galaxy and beyond.
Colin Clarke, Senior Technical Sales & Support Manager of Bright Space Technologies, explained: "The Duplexed fibres allowed a USB interface to be run between the graphics PC and the touch screen about 30+ metres distant from each other with bi-directional control, live on the night.
"However, this is only a fraction of the product's actual capability. The plug and play solution can extend USB interface control up to 10 km if necessary."
The MultiDyne USB-2000 USB fibre optic link extends USB 2.0 signals via the company's proprietary fibre optic link. Applications include remote keyboard and mouse functions for the remote control of computer systems and networking USB peripherals in remote location.
Systems are available in multimode and single-mode fibre and are with one or two fibre optic ports.
