TSL provide events package for TVNZ

Television Systems Limited (TSL), UK-based independent broadcast systems integrator and manufacturer, has completed the manufacture and delivery of an innovative 'Events Package' for TVNZ (Television New Zealand) - providing a comprehensive routing system that was recently used to provide facilities for the Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England.
The system will now be used for the 2002/2003 America's Cup Competition starting in Auckland in October 2002, and the Athens Summer Olympic Games in 2004. TVNZ will also use the system to service other events covered by TVNZ - both for their local use, as well as providing facilities for a number of other broadcasters.
The Events Package was designed by TSL from a TVNZ detailed specification. 48 incoming video feeds can be handled from the host broadcaster and up to 14 commentary feeds, as well as six local off-screen commentary feeds can be inserted into the outgoing programme chains. Production requirements include feeds for the local editing of news material and sports highlight packages.
TSL was responsible for the systems hardware. The major components of the system - a Quartz 64x64 SDI router, Vistek digital conversion products and JVC monitors - are all installed in flight cases providing a complete fly-away system. TSL commissioned the entire project at its facility in Maidenhead before it was installed and used in Manchester, prior to onward shipping to TVNZ.
