Red Letter Day For GTC Workshop

A one-day seminar and workshop is being held for members of the Guild of Television Cameramen (GTC) covering the RED camera.
Technology and workflows are to be explained, as well as test shooting and grading demonstrated and all 'under 'one roof with expert advice from technicians from Molinare and 4K London.
Taking place on Friday 22nd October, it is being put on by the GTC - which is a non-profit making organisation, run by a Council of around 20 volunteer television professionals and financed partly by members' subscriptions - but also by sponsorship from a number of equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
This is the latest in a popular series of day-long GTC workshops to be generously hosted by post house Molinare.
GTC members have already enjoyed a couple of 'Grade Days Out' at the Molinare's Soho base and a GTC spokesman said "we are grateful to them for once again opening their doors and sharing their expertise".
Friday's event includes a welcome and introduction from Mark Foligno, Managing Director, Molinare and a Molinare Showreel followed by 'The RED Camera: 4K Overview' and workflow from 4K London and a 4K London showreel.
Then camera shooting tests plus an introduction to the Baselight grading facility by Molinare colourist will be undertaken and after lunch, a hands-on demo of RED camera, including 'The Candle Test' to illustrate how well the camera performs in very low light.
Then a grading demo on RED footage in Baselight 1 will be held and, in this session a Molinare colourist will grade RED material shot by 4K London and talk through the pros and cons of RED grading. The footage will be pre-loaded during the lunch break.
The venue is Theatre 1, Molinare, 34 Fouberts Place, London, W1F 7PX.
GTC workshops are free to GTC members. Non-members are welcome, space permitting, but will be subject to an entrance fee.
