Gekko Kleer Colour And Kezia Win Awards At IBC 2010
Gekko Technology, a leading provider of lighting systems for film and television production studios, is pleased to announce the receipt of two awards won during the IBC 2010 exhibition in Amsterdam.
Gekko's leer colour LED-based multichip array technology received an IABM Award for Excellence in Design & Innovation. This was one of five awards presented by the association at a ceremony on Saturday September 11.
The IABM (International Association of Broadcast Manufacturers) is the global voice of the broadcast and media technology supply industries.
Its prestigious awards are given for design and innovation and recognise products and solutions which significantly aid the evolution of the broadcast and media technology worlds.
In addition, Gekko's kezia 50 and 200 hard-source LED luminaries, both of which incorporate leer colour, received a Pick Hit award from Broadcast Engineering magazine. The judges are readers of the publication and working professionals in the broadcast, post-production, networking and satellite industries.
Managing Director David Amphlett said: "These two awards are a tribute to the efforts of the entire Gekko Technology development, production and sales team. Film and television lighting directors throughout the world are increasingly progressing to LED-based systems for reasons of consistent performance, inherent robustness, cool operation and outstanding power efficiency. kleer colour technology adds precise control of colour temperature without the need to gel the fixture. Using software control, kleer colour is capable of generating high quality whites as well as millions of different colours. A closed feedback loop ensures colour stability across varying ambient temperature as well as offsetting changes caused by component ageing."
