Nokia and RTÉ Interactive agree sponsorship
Nokia Mobile Phones has secured sponsorship of RTÉ Interactive Entertainment content.
This sponsorship agreement is one of the most significant new media sponsorship deals concluded in the Irish market this year.
This sponsorship leverages entertainment content on a number of different electronic platforms, comprising the entertainment pages of AERTEL, the RTÉ teletext network and the RTÉ Interactive website - www.rte.ie/entertainment. RTÉ Interactive will support the sponsorship with a significant cross-promotion package across the other RTÉ Interactive content areas.
RTÉ Interactive Entertainment has an audience of over 1.8 million weekly users on AERTEL and over 340,000 page views per month on the web.
"We are delighted to have secured such a sponsorship deal with RTÉ Interactive," said Jackie Brannigan, Marketing Manager, Nokia (Ireland) Limited, Mobile Phones Division. "We believe there is genuine synergy between Nokia Mobile Phones and RTÉ Interactive and are sure that this sponsorship will be the first step in a mutually beneficial relationship for both companies. With the imminent arrival of new telecommunications technologies to Ireland, we believe that content provisioning will play a very strong role in revenue generation for all players."
RTÉ Interactive Entertainment Editor Cristín Leach said, "In line with this exciting new deal we have implemented a complete re-design of our online and AERTEL presence.
Regular visitors to our website and teletext pages will enjoy a brighter, more user friendly service that includes daily entertainment news; film, album, game, theatre and book reviews; nationwide cinema, gig and exhibition listings; TV and Radio news and listings; and online, the latest audio and video content from RTÉ radio and television shows."
In association with Nokia Mobile Phones, RTÉ Interactive Entertainment aims to be the premier provider of cross-platform entertainment content in Ireland.
