Cameramen's AGM Invitation Issued
There's an important date coming up for cameramen.
The Guild of Television Cameramen (GTC) is to hold its annual general meeting this month, (20 May).
Sponsored by ARRI GB, which is hosting the meeting at their Uxbridge site and providing a buffet and drinks, cameraman will be updated on progress over the past year on a variety of issues.
The meeting will also include the election of the GTC Council for the next two years, and an address from our Honorary President, Dick Hibberd.
There will also be a presentation of the Guild's accounts and, most importantly, an opportunity for GTC members to express their opinions on how the GTC is doing and what it should be aiming to achieve in the coming year.
In the afternoon ARRI will host a workshop presentation of their latest camera format the Alexa digital 35 mm range unveiled at IBC 2009 and NAB 2010.
The GTC is non-profit making and is run by cameramen for cameramen.
It was formed in 1972 and now has over 1,000 members in countries as far afield as Australia, South Africa, the USA, Russia and Singapore.
The majority though live in the UK, are mainly freelance and work in all aspects of television from corporate production through news and current affairs to documentary and drama.
