Hullabaloo Studios Win RTS Nomination

Hullabaloo Studios has been nominated for the Royal Television Society 2009 Craft Award for their outstanding picture editing on the popular children's animation Roary the Racing Car.
It's just 12 months since Hullabaloo Studios added picture editing to the range of services they offer to broadcasters, production companies and advertising agencies.
Hullabaloo was set up in 1996 by Darren Cox and Simon Hall and soon built up an excellent reputation as one of the leading post production sound facilities in the North West.
They have an impressive track record including: Roary the Racing Car for Chapman Entertainment, Bob the Builder for HIT, Postman Pat for Cosgrove Hall, last season's radio advertising campaign for Manchester City and the new multi lingual interactive web-site for Astra Zenecca.
Darren Cox said: "The RTS nomination is the icing on the cake. It is proof that we made the right decision to offer a picture editing service and the nomination shows we can offer our clients a high quality and professional service. Roary the Racing Car offered a number of challenges, but our talented picture editing team came up with some very creative solutions."
Senior Picture Editor Danny Brown said: "The second series of Roary the Racing Car presented some fresh challenges. New computer graphic elements needed to work alongside the traditional 3D model shoot and it was Hullabaloo Studios' task to ensure that the end result was a seamless finished production. The Tall Story Roary episode brought its own unique challenges.
"It was shot in daylight, but the episode required that it needed to look as thought the scene took place at night," he said.
Hullabaloo Studios has recently extended it services even further and they now have an in-house 2D and 3D Design Department. Darren said: "We're always looking at ways we can improve the service we offer to our clients. Our new 2D and 3D Design Department means that we can offer improved service to advertising agencies and it allows us to create programme title sequences in-house."
