TSL To Offer Solid State Tallyman System At IBC 2009

TSL Professional Products Group has announced that it will introduce 'TMC-1' (Tallyman Computer 1), a self contained unit able to control high-speed tally systems for large numbers of peripherals and functions at IBC 2009.
The 1RU TMC-1 features dual-redundant internal power supply units, SNMP functionality and an embedded Windows XP operating system that provides the speed and power of Windows XP but with no possibility of hard disc failure as the system is solid state.
Chris Exelby, TSL Professional Products Group General Manager, said: "TSL has been involved in the design, manufacture and sale of tally systems for more than twenty years and therefore knows the importance to a tally system to production. For cameras in particular, tally systems are essential because they enable cameramen to know when a feed is being taken to air and the talent to know which camera is live at any given moment. The TSL Tallyman protocol and system has been adopted by broadcasters world-wide and the new TMC-1 will ensure that it will still remain the solution of choice."
The TMC-1 is also flexible enough to allow open-ended Tallyman development with the benefit of a "build your own system" option. In addition to tally and under monitor displays, the TMC-1 controller can also integrate with mains distribution and other systems designed and developed by TSL.
