Aston to launch station-wide captioning and graphics solution
Aston is to launch their new cross-platform captioning and graphics family, EGO and GREEN, on stand 11.511 at IBC.
Complementing the RED and BLUE systems, which Aston claim are rapidly becoming the industry standard for on air graphics, GREEN is a cost-effective entry level character generator with a high basic specification, comprehensive upgrade path, and powerful replay capabilities, whilst EGO brings template-based page creation capabilities for offline preparation on a PC platform.
Aston's Sales Director, Peter Munday, explains how the new additions fit into the range: "The ViVid range was successfully launched just a year ago with the dual channel RED and powerful BLUE graphics engine, and the time is now right to add lower cost functionality to the range. GREEN is a cost-effective entry level dedicated solution which allows us to do just that, and EGO completes the picture. As a PC-based caption editing and preparation application, it is set to really streamline the broadcast graphics workflow. We're confident that these new products will deliver stunning results at every level, from Laptop to Live!"
GREEN is a fully-featured compact character generator which also offers stills and graphics retouching capability. With continuous crawl as standard, it is the ideal solution for information channels where tickers are required, and a wide range of interfaces to newsroom and station automation systems further broadens its appeal across the broadcast sector. Supplied in a compact 2u frame with a custom-designed keyboard, GREEN delivers rugged reliability to the broadcast user with a comprehensive upgrade path to suit their evolving requirements.
Even in its most basic configuration GREEN has the ability to replay graphics created on units further up the range.
Aston EGO, a new offline graphics preparation tool, is also launched at the show. Pitched as the ideal partner for Aston's dedicated online graphics presentation products, it is compatible with legacy units as well as with the newer dedicated range.
EGO and GREEN will both be ship in the autumn.
