Finepoint's Canon Investment: A Commitment To Excellence
Britain's dry hire broadcast equipment specialists, Finepoint, have bought a significant number of Canon lenses, including some large field lenses.
Jane Simpson, Commercial Director of Finepoint, said: "This investment in Canon lenses strengthens our HD rental fleet and confirms our commitment to offering customers in the UK and around the world excellence in every facet of broadcast equipment."
The order includes 4 Canon DIGISUPER 86xs, 1 DIGISUPER 100xs and a number of HJ14x lenses. FinePoint will also be amongst the first to offer Canon's new HJ14ex4.3 IASE wide-angle lens.
This lens features the widest angle available in 2/3-inch lenses, with an angular field of view of 96.3 degrees at the wide end, augmented by the 14x zoom range reaching to 60mm (120mm with extender).
The HJ14ex4.3 offers vast new HDTV production potential in everything from sports and major entertainment events, to news, TV series, documentaries and - notably - working in small studios.
Wildlife, travel programmes, hand held shots at pop concerts and entertainment shows, are all both facilitated and enhanced by this superb all-purpose lens. Small settings such as theatres, where audience shots have often been a problem, car interiors - plus crane and jib use - all come easily to the versatile and highly effective new Canon HJ14ex4.3.
