ITN Installs SSL's C100 HD-S With New Blackrock Processor
World leading media technology innovator Solid State Logic (SSL) today announced the installation of its C100 HD-S audio console, with powerful new Blackrock processing at UK news production company, ITN.
ITN is one of the world's leading independent news and multimedia content providers. Their choice of the 32-fader C100 HD-S was a result of previous experience with SSL consoles as well as demanding tests involving a number of brand-name digital consoles.
ITN Head of Broadcast Engineering Paul Flook said: "We were the first UK media organisation to install a console from SSL’s C-Series back in 2006. That console continues to be a stalwart of the services we provide so when we recently started to look at upgrading our second Production Control Room, SSL was an obvious candidate.
"Nevertheless, we put all of the consoles under consideration through intense comparative tests. The SSL C100 HD-S was by far the fastest and easiest to operate. "The new Blackrock processor delivers superb speed, flexibility and stability in a far more compact package. Moreover, the ability to cope with multiple feeds and complex audio delays is vital to our operation and the C100 HD-S handles such tasks effortlessly."
The C100 HD-S installed at Production Control Room 2 is now an integral part of ITN's primary audio and video production facility in Central London. Solid State Logic Technical Manager Paul Lindsay, said: "ITN is respected worldwide for the delivery of high quality video journalism it provides to broadcasters’ ITV, Channel 4, and Setanta. To have their confidence with multiple SSL consoles at the heart of their operation is further evidence of the benefits delivered by these peerless digital workhorses."
