Framestore CFC win two Emmys and gain BTAA nomination

Framestore CFC have won two Primetime awards at the 54th Annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
‘Dinotopia’ took the award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects, with the Outstanding Animated Program award going to 'Walking With Beasts’.
Senior staff on both projects took to the stage to accept the awards for the company, led by Mike McGee for ‘Dinotopia’ and Mike Milne for ‘Walking With Beasts’.
Speaking from Los Angeles, Milne said: “We’re all thrilled, of course. This double shows that London is a genuine alternative to LA for computer animation. It also demonstrates that we’re leading the competition in creature animation, which is where some of the most interesting and exciting work is being done right now”.
Framestore CFC have also received a total of five shortlist nominations in three categories for this year’s BTAA Craft Awards.
The company’s collective work on ‘Odyssey’ for Levi’s and ‘Mosquito’ for XBox received nominations in the Computer Animation and Video Post Production categories.
Dave Ludlam, Senior Colourist at Framestore CFC, was individually recognised with a nomination in the Colourist category for his work on ‘Yellow Lines’, for Daewoo. The BTAA Craft Awards were instituted in 1996, with the aim of further recognising the British skills and crafts employed in commercials production that are in worldwide demand. The event, which attracts over 400 entries for its 21 categories, will this year take place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel on Monday November 4.
