TMD Announces AmberFin Partnership

TransMedia Dynamics (TMD), which specialises in the development and delivery of solutions and services via its Mediaflex file-based content management system, has announced that it has established a technical and marketing partnership with Amberfin, providers of award-winning ICR software tools, and will exhibit a new bulk ingest application on TMD's Stand SU9205 at NAB 2009.
The two companies have consistently collaborated to provide best-in-class media ingest and repurposing on generic IT storage systems in the form of an "ICR-Mediaflex" automated ingest solution.
TMD's modular Mediaflex system enables media organisations to manage both physical media and digital file based content throughout their relevant workflows.
Amberfin's ICR software tools enable users to effortlessly automate repetitive ingest, conversion and transcoding tasks for new and archived media content, and is designed to be easily integrated into existing equipment, from storage networks to non-linear editors.
Combining the two with a tape library robot such as Sony's Flexicart offers a uniquely practical, scalable and cost-effective way of bulk ingesting and repurposing video in a succession of easy steps which will be demonstrated at NAB 2009.
Incoming media can be registered in Mediaflex and ingest tasks created. Once tapes are loaded into a Flexicart, Mediaflex scans the material and provides links to titles held on its database. Mediaflex then directs ICR to ingest the content; create digital masters and realtime proxies in whatever format or wrapper is required and perform an automated QC, all while the next bulk list is loaded or while deliverables are located in Mediaflex for distribution via ICR.

In addition to the extensive list of workflows that Mediaflex already supports, it supports new workflows such as HD ingest, Remote Editing, Assisted QC, Audio Ingest, Audio Track Stacking, Audio QC, Remote Subtitling, Data Tape Externalisation and Outgest.
