The British-born Hollywood director, producer and writer, Paul W.S. Anderson, has joined the commercials' roster at The Mob Film Company ( www.mobfilm.com).
Anderson, who is well known for hugely successful video game adaptations and explosive sci-fi movies, has already completed his first advertising production for VW Golf, through DDB, which airs at the beginning of April.
Anderson is renowned for his ability to create strong, atmospheric visuals and high-impact action. A self-confessed fan of legendary filmmakers Ridley Scott and James Cameron, Anderson's work on Alien vs. Predator, a spin-off from Ridley Scott's Alien, was rated by Cameron as amongst the top three Alien movies. Anderson's Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil and Alien vs. Predator motion pictures have collectively grossed more than half a billion dollars worldwide.

Anderson's Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil and Alien vs. Predator motion pictures have collectively grossed more than half a billion dollars worldwide.
Anderson, who was born in Newcast-upon-Tyne, UK, was introduced to The Mob by director Vadim Jean, who has directed spots for Cancer Research UK, VW, Aeriel, Lloyds Pharmacy and Baxters through The Mob, and who has known Anderson since the pair attended Warwick University together.
John Brocklehurst, Managing Director of The Mob, said: "It's not often you get the chance to represent the considerable talents of someone like Paul. His directorial trademarks of stunning visuals, daft editing and the ability to grip and move audiences, should make interesting propositions to brands worldwide."
Paul W.S. Anderson said: "I've spent the last few years pushing the envelope of action and visual effects in the area of motion pictures, and I'm very excited to bring that cutting edge skill to bear on commercials, with my friends at The Mob."
Anderson first gained notoriety as the writer/diretor of the low-budget, ultra-violent Shopping, a dark story about joyriding and ram raiding. The film was banned in some cinemas in England, but established Anderson's love of cars and a reputation for delivering high-impact action.
He rapidly moved into Hollywood's major league directing Mortal Kombat, the first successful movie adaptation of a videogame, which instantly because a No.1 boxoffice smash.
The triumph of Mortal Kombat quickly established Anderson as the man who could bring franchise success by making video games explode on the big screen. After directing Soldier, a "sidequel" to Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, followed by the cult-classic Event Horizon, he returned to adapting videogames for the big screen with the survival horror Resident Evil, which he wrote, directed and produced. A resounding commercial success, the movie spawned Anderson's second successful franchise, that also includes No.1 hits Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Resident Evil: Extinction.
Anderson underlined his box-office pulling-power when he wrote and directed Alien vs. Predator, kicking-off his third successful franchise when it opened at No.1 at the US box-office, later becoming the highest-grossing film in both the Alien and Predator series.
Anderson was born and raised in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. He graduated from the University of Warwick with a BA in Film & Literature, continuing there to become the youngest student to achieve an MBA. He lives in Los Angeles, and is represented worldwide for commercials by The Mob Film Company.
