Affordable Robotic Functions On Show At BVE London

A Vitec Group company, Vinten Radamec, is said to have 'captured the spirit of the times' with a product adding the benefits of robotic functions - but at an affordable price.
Combined with a Fusion FH100 Robotic and Manual head, the Fusion FBH175 Bolt on Height drive is simply added to an existing manual pedestal such as the Vinten Osprey Elite, avoiding the expense of a replacement system.
Broadcast robotics are already proving their value in a wide range of applications, from simple one or two camera studios to network studios utilising total robotic solutions for everything from news broadcasts to live sports action.
While the FBH175 is a height only solution, it matches the performance of the FP145 Robotic Pedestal under full manual control, so enabling on-shot movement as well as high speed repositioning.
This is an ideal entry-level solution for those news or regional studios that require a more versatile set up on a tight budget, to which further robotic functionality can be added.
The Vinten Radamec Control System (VRC) also allows all of the shots and pedestal movements for every show to be pre-stored, and then accurately executed from the GUI by a single operator. Apart from reducing production costs, this offers more creative and consistent camera movements to preserve the unique look and identity of the show.
Nearly 300 Vinten Radamec Fusion Heads and 100 Peds have been installed in over 50 studios worldwide in the last 18 months alone.
"More and more broadcasters are realising the clear operational benefits and return on investment (ROI) that robotic camera support systems provide," said Roger Wilson, Managing Director of Camera Dynamics.
"A move to a full robotic studio configuration can provide an overhead reduction of 50 per cent and a ROI period of approximately two to three years."
The company will be at BVE 2009, Earls Court, London, (17-19 February), on Stand H30, or visit www.vintenradamec.com
