Vinten Radamec To Showcase At BIRTV 2007

Vinten Radamec will be showcasing some of their latest products at BIRTV 2007, Beijing, 22-25 August 2007.
The Vinten Radamec range continues to grow, delivering new products with the most advanced technology available in robotic camera support, providing the perfect solution for automated news and studio applications.
Highlights at BIRTV include:
  • Vinten Radamec Fusion FHR100 robotic only head
  • Vinten Radamec Fusion FH100 manual and robotic head
  • Vinten Radamec Fusion FBH175 bolt-on height drive
  • Vinten Radamec Fusion FP145 Pedestal
The Vinten Radamec Quattro SE manual pedestal tracking solution for virtual studios will also be on show at the VizRT stand.
The new FHR100 head includes standard features from the FH100 full function head, with the exception of not providing manual control, enabling the design to be smaller, lighter, and provide even greater cost effectiveness. The highly versatile direct control of digital full servo broadcast lenses from the main lens providers is maintained.
The new bolt on height drive, the FBH175, provides robotic control of the height of most lightweight manual pedestals from Vinten and Sachtler, such as the Osprey Elite, and the Pro Ped. When used in conjunction with the new FHR100 robotic only head, this makes the switch to a robotic studio much more affordable.
The new Fusion robotic pedestal, the FP145 has a payload of 85kg (175lbs).
The unique accuracy enhancing four wheel design, easy access electronics modules and Vinten manual performance take robotic pedestal design into a new dimension.
The Quattro SE is Vinten Radamec’s latest virtually reality product and this lightweight, compact manually operated pedestal with built in encoders is ideal for today’s virtual studios.
Developed from the award winning Quattro S, the new S E variant has all the benefits of the ergonomically assisted lifting column, the small doorway width, and the on shot performance of the Vinten pedestal.
High quality precision encoders have been integrated into the wheels and column, providing precise real time digital electronic positioning over the floor and during elevation.
In order to negate the impact of the ‘scrubbing’ or wheel dragging experienced with other encoder equipped virtual pedestals, an algorithm has been developed which uses the motion data from each of the seven encoders to provide an error correction estimate.
This has been shown to delivers an improvement in accuracy ten times greater than other pedestal tracking solutions.
To deliver the accurate position data for all axes, two electronics modules are included, a base processor and a head processor.
A PDA is included to provide the configuration and operational user interface. This not only simplifies virtual studio set-up, it also provides the operator with useful positional feedback, and calibration data.
In keeping with Vinten Radamec’s aim to simplify tracking solutions, the output from the pedestal is integrated with position feedback from the 950E and 250E head and lens into a single clocked channel to the rendering system of a virtual software image generator.
