BAFTA Nominations Named

News Image
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts organisation - BAFTA - has released its shortlist of nominees for the latest Orange Rising Star award.
Won by Shia Labeouf last year, the list of young talent for the upcoming award sees former Doctor Who star Noel Clark in the running.
The 23-year-old Londoner wrote and starred in cult Brit-flick Kidulthood and wrote, directed and starred in it's follow-up, Adulthood. Both films received critical acclaim for their gritty portrayal of life in London.
He is joined by 21-year-old Michael Fassbender. The German-born actor recently starred in British horror Eden Lake and has already started work on Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds as well as the film re-make of The Sweeney.
Toby Kebbell is also on the list of five names following starring performances in films Dead Man's Shoes, Rocknrolla and The German as well as a successful role on TV show The Street.
The 26-year-old is currently shooting Prince of Persia: Sands of Time with Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal and fellow Brits Gemma Arterton and Sir Ben Kingsley.
Canadian Michael Cera is also nominated. Cera is best known for his role as George-Michael Bluth in US cable series Arrested Development.
The 20-year-old more recently took starring roles in Superbad and Juno and will soon be seen in Nick And Nora's Infinite Playlist as well as the film version of Arrested Development.
The only female on the list is 26-year-old Londoner Rebecca Hall. Following roles in Starter For 10 with James McAvoy and The Prestige with Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale, Hall has prominent parts in two films that have received some Oscar buzz - Frost/Nixon and Vicky Christina Barcelona.
