San Francisco State University Adds Abaltat Muse To Their Digital Video Intensive Program

Abaltat, a developer of innovative audio workflow solutions for postproduction and broadcast markets, has announced that San Francisco University (SFSU) has begun to teach the new Abaltat Muse audio soundtrack creation workflow in their Digital Video Intensive (DVI) program; a special educational offering designed to broaden the horizons of any student wishing to pursue a career in the digital arts.
The emerging Abaltat technology is driving new trends for soundtrack workflows and top industry educators like SFSU are ensuring their students are abreast of the new cutting edge approach to audio content creation by teaching Muse in their Digital Video Intensive (DVI) program; a 16-week, full-time training program providing hands-on experience with the latest digital filmmaking tools and techniques.
Craig Abaya, SFSU DVI Director, said: "The talented filmmakers and videographers who populate our Digital Video Intensive program have a keen understanding the technical and business sides of filmmaking. However, they understand that those factors serve to support a film's storytelling and aesthetics.
"We provide them with the hands on expertise to channel their inspirations into effective digital works of art. Sound and music have tremendous impact on the way your audience "sees" your visual work. Try to watch a movie or program without it and you will quickly understand the importance of the soundtrack. I see Muse as the up and coming critical component in the compilation of art and storytelling."
Mark Altekruse, Director of Sales and Marketing, Abaltat, commented: "After several meetings with Craig, and witnessing firsthand how Craig Abaya and the instructors were emphasising the importance of sound to video and film, I knew this was where Abaltat Muse belonged.
"The SFSU Multimedia Studies and DVI program focus on the right message: creating original music for film is critical for the modern independent filmmaker and video editor. Teaching music composition through Muse is important in two key aspects. First, it expands the palette of marketable skills for the students that will take out into the world. Second, it alleviates the problems and legalities associated with music licensing."
Currently, the DVI program hosts two labs encompassing nearly 30 stations, with each station having full version of Abaltat Muse installed. Students are now learning ho quick and easy it is to export specific clips from Apple Final Cut Studio for use in Muse 2.0, while quickly getting the hang of how to compose, arrange and export their Muse compositions for import back into Final Cut or into other audio applications like Apple GarageBand and Logic.
