The Hiring Post Goes Back To Nature With Autumnwatch

Shepperton-based broadcast hire company, The Hiring Post, has announced its continued relationship with BBC Post Production Birmingham by supporting the production and transmission of Autumnwatch, the broadcaster's popular bi-annual, live nature series.
BBC Post Production is responsible for all post production on the Autumnwatch and Springwatch series and it is the second year that The Hiring Post has supplied equipment for both the programmes.
Autumnwatch is produced by the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol and airs Monday to Thursday on BBC Two from October 27 to November 7. The programme will broadcast live coverage from Brownsea Island near Poole, Dorset. This new location is a haven for wildlife and promises to deliver spectacular footage to nature lovers.
The post production kit provided by The Hiring Post includes an Avid Unity MediaNetwork with 8TB of storage, four Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems and two Avid Airspeed multi-purpose media platforms. The system, which has been pre-built and delivered by The Hiring Post to the Brownsea Island site, also includes an Intel database server, Avid Command automation control system and a number of Digi Betas and DVCAM VTRs.
The Hiring Post, in association with John Burkill, BBC Post Production, will also provide on-site technical support for the whole of the Avid workflow technology.
