UK Screen's Onion Sessions Reveal The World Of Editing

UK Screen, the trade body that represents UK service companies to the film and television screen industries, has announced that the second event in the popular Onion Sessions series will examine The World of Editing.
It will take place at 7pm on Monday November 17 at post-production facility ENVY's Rathbone Place premises. The event is sponsored by Avid.
The Onion Sessions are designed to peel back the layers of the industry and give junior staff such as runners and receptionists a useful insight in to the inner workings of the industry. The aim is to help inspire staff, provide them with a basic grasp of the industry and give useful tips to progress their careers.
The World of Editing session is ideal for those who are thinking about becoming editors, or are already in their first junior editing roles. It will give the inside track on the technical and client-facing skills that are required to become a top editor, whether in film, commercials, promos or episodic TV.
Editors at ENVY post production, voted Best Post Production House at the Broadcast Awards 2008, will discuss their experiences and there will also be a tips and tricks session on the latest Avid editing equipment.
These sessions are free to attend but are restricted to junior staff of UK Screen members. Places are limited so those wishing to book a place should email: [email protected] with their name, company, job title and email address.
