Eyeheight supply Fame Academy at four hours notice

Eyeheight have supplied five SQ-500 aspect ratio converters for use in the Fame Academy audience-participation television show currently being broadcast on BBC 1.
The equipment was requested at very short notice and delivered within the required timeframe, just four hours later.
A cost-optimised version of Eyeheight's popular SQ-1000 digital aspect ratio converter, the SQ-500 allows 4:3 pictures to be converted between 16:9, 15:9 and 14:9 letterbox, as well as 4:3 full frame and 2.35 or 1.85 anamorphic formats.
A flexible zoom mode allows source video to be compressed and expanded horizontally and vertically to cater for unusual applications. Digital noise reduction is included, allowing the SQ-500 to feed direct to MPEG encoders.
Four user memories and two assignable GPI inputs are provided for retention of custom settings. The SQ-500 passes ancillary data such as embedded audio and timecode. Two switchable AES/EBU delays synchronise audio to the processed video, eliminating the need for external audio delay devices.
Fame Academy enables viewers to vote for their weekly favourite among twelve students competing for the trappings of a pop musician.
