Four Eyeheight irisLites mix top league sports with TWI

TWI, one of the world's largest producers of sports programming, has installed four Eyeheight irisLite vision mixers at its mediahouse facility in Chiswick, west London.
TWI is the television arm of IMG which represents many of the world's most prominent athletes, celebrities and events. With production centres in New York, London, Hong Kong, Sydney and New Delhi, and 20 offices worldwide, TWI annually produces and distributes over 6,000 hours of original programming to more than 200 territories. The initial application of the irisLite vision mixers will be in providing international broadcast coverage of all 380 Premier League football games in the current season.
TWI Chief Engineer Richard Allingham said: "We have used Eyeheight equipment for years and found it reliable, operator-friendly, compact and price-efficient. In this instance, we needed a vision mixer that could cut between three or four sources and key. irisLite fitted our requirements exactly. We have installed one in each of four mini-galleries with an EVS disk recorder controller, a sound mixer and a graphics station. They are working very well."
An 8-input/4-output version of Eyeheight's standard 12/4 iris, irisLite performs full 10 bit mixing with programmable mix times and automatic or manual transitions. Integral features include a wipe, edge and matte generator with user-adjustable edges. The vision mixer can be locked to external SDI reference sync and continues operation in the absence of source signals. Up to eight downstream keyers can be incorporated. EDH re-insertion is provided on main outputs.
Fully compatible with Eyeheight's wide product range, irisLite occupies a compact 1U chassis with remote control panels. It can handle widescreen and standard aspect ratios and is available for 625 and 525-line markets.
Eyeheight, www.eyeheight.com specialises in broadcast-quality production equipment and interface systems. Based in Britain, Eyeheight is active in the Americas, Asia, Australasia and Europe through a worldwide network of specialist resellers.
