Twofour Wins Euro Parliament TV Deal

News Image
Twofour, a fast-growing broadcast television and business communications company based in the UK, has been commissioned by the European Parliament to develop a web TV platform that will make European politics more accessible to EU citizens.
Having successfully completed a pilot which saw Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and selected citizens across Europe trialing the service, Twofour has now been given the green light to launch EuroParlTV to the public during the summer.
EuroParlTV is a sophisticated web TV platform that will stream both live and archived programming in more than 20 EU languages (voice over and subtitles) ensuring that viewers can follow the latest hot topics as well past political debates.
The site has four channels - Your Parliament; Your Voice; Young Europe and Parliament Live - which combine live streaming with specially made programmes. Viewers can even choose to watch in one language with subtitles in another.
Commenting on the project, Paul Tarplee, Managing Director, Twofour, said: "This is the first public-facing video site to cater for all of the languages of the EU and is probably the biggest, most complicated web TV platform in the world.
"It has been an amazing assignment to work on and we are honoured that the European Parliament has entrusted such an important project as this to Twofour.
"EuroParlTV will prove an invaluable tool for anyone studying or reporting on European politics as well as those citizens interested in keeping abreast of what’s going on in Brussels and Strasbourg, in their own languages."
