Fantasy Film Enjoys Fantastic Premiere
The premiere of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian has had a regal reception at London's 02 arena.
It is reported that some 10,000 fans attended the event - billed as the biggest-ever film premiere - to watch the movie on the largest cinema screen to be constructed in Europe, measuring 91ft by 38 ft.
Fantasy fans dressed as lions, witches and Telmarine soldiers.
The area surrounding the O2 arena was transformed into a Narnia world with sword clad performers on horseback entertaining the crowds.
Prince Caspian is the sequel to The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, which earned £381 million at the box office in 2005.
The first film centred around four British children who are evacuated during the Blitz to the countryside where they find a wardrobe that is a portal to the fantasy world of Narnia.
British stars of the film Ben Barnes and William Moseley said they were "excited" to be back on home soil.
Barnes, who plays Prince Caspian said on the 190m red carpet that he was "so overexcited" that he was "babbling like an idiot".
He said the UK premiere was the "climax" and that he was "the most excited person" at the event.
Director Andrew Adamson says he "highly recommends" working with children and that they "energise you".
Both Narnia films are based on the fantasy novels by Belfast-born writer, C.S Lewis. The majority of the filming took place in central Europe because of the larger sets available.
