Pioneer Reveals Power Of The Earth For Discovery

Award-winning indie, Pioneer Productions, has been commissioned by Discovery Channel to produce 'Inside Planet Earth' and 'Raging Planet', two epic productions that explore the meteorological and geographical forces that govern our planet.
'Inside Planet Earth' uses CGI to take viewers on a visual expedition to the centre of the Earth. The journey will take viewers through the crust, into the mantle and right to the very centre of its inner core; in addition it will visit locations around the world, where evidence of this internal structure can be seen on the planet's surface.
'Raging Planet 2' is a major project filming over 18 months. It builds on the success of Pioneer's first series that scored record audiences for Discovery Channel, as it explores the most extreme natural forces that govern our plant. Each episode will cover a different force of nature, ranging from hurricanes and lightning, to volcanoes and avalanches.

Both series cements Pioneer's position as a leading producer of weather and geological programming, building on the success of 'Tornado Alley' (The Travel Channel), 'The Year The Earth Went Wild' (C4), 'New Orleans: Anatomy Of A Disaster' (Nova) and 'The Wave That Shook The World' (C4) amongst others.
'Inside Planet Earth' is executive produced by Stuart Carter for Pioneer Productions and directed by Martin Williams. It was commissioned by John Ford for Discovery Channel and will be distributed by Discovery International. 'Raging Planet 2' is executive produced by Stuart Carter and series produced by Alice Harper for Pioneer Productions and is directed by Mark Wescott, Alex Williamson and Susannah Ward.
