FX Rentals Buys Drumhire

FX Rentals has acquired the total assets of Drumhire, the specialist high-end drum rental company.
Well established in the audio industry, Drumhire is noted for supplying a prestige drum rental service to artists, studios, producers and TV companies alike.
The move sees FX's hire inventory boosted by a wide range of superior drum kits tailor-made for recording, supplementing the company's existing kits which are predominantly aimed at the live sound market.
The acquisition includes a quality vintage collection and a snare drum selection developed over many years with a number of collectable items chosen for their studio or live performance.
"I am absolutely delighted that existing Drumhire customers will benefit from the excellent resources FX are renowned for," said Drumhire's founder Mike U'Dell. "These include a really superior service which includes the provision of a one stop shop and, crucially, the 24-hour service which FX provides."
FX Group's Managing Director Nick Harris, himself no stranger to a drum kit, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for FX to add to its already existing stock of drums and backline, which is an ever increasing share of our business.
"But this is not just about additional drums; we are taking on a unique specialist hire company built up over the last 25 years. Our aim is to continue and expand its reputation and specialist service."
Mr U'Dell intends to concentrate on his network music bass shaker distribution company.
