Argosy To Showcase Skeleton Cable Drum Range At BroadcastLive & VideoForum

Argosy, a leading international suppliers of HD broadcast cables and studio infrastructure products, will be showcasing its new range of UK-manufactured skeleton cable drums at BroadcastLive/VideoForum 2008 (Earl’s Court 2, London 30 January – 1 February 2008). These 'drums' are designed for use with SMPTE 311m HDTV fibre optic camera cable assemblies and are available in two sizes – 300 and 500 metre units. They enable long fibre optic cable runs to be used reducing the interconnections required while minimising damage to the cables.
The introduction of this new skeleton cable drum complements Argosy’s existing broad range of SMPTE 311 Hybrid HD camera cable assemblies, by offering a variety of customer-packaged solutions – including free end to free end cables assemblies, cable assemblies on skeleton drums, panel mount to panel mount or free end and skeleton drums without cables.
The skeleton cable drums with the SMPTE 311m HDTV fibre optic camera cable assemblies allow for deployment of HD Cameras, with SMPTE connectors installed to operate at far greater distances than has been possible with triax cables. These drums provide perfect cabling solutions for television stations and outside broadcast companies as well as systems integrators and hire companies.
Argosy is a large stockist for pre-terminated fibre/copper hybrid camera cables in various lengths up to 500 metres. Utilising LEMO cable and connectors, the cables are terminated and tested with the latest LEMO male and female connectors. The LEMO connection system has become the 'de facto' standard for studio and stadium installations as well as outside broadcast applications. As well as having a large inventory of these leads Argosy also offers a quick turn-around repair service for field damaged cables.
