H24 TV Makes The News With Panasonic

A Rome-based content and facilities provider H24 TV Agency has adopted Panasonic's P2 solid-state tapeless format for newsgathering operations from its 15 bureaux throughout Italy.
H24 will deploy Panasonic AG-HPX500 cameras and P2 storage cards for both SD and HD news production.
H24 provides journalism and production services to national broadcasters RAI and LA7, and international broadcasters including France 24, Al Jazeera Arabic and English, CNN, BBC, Paramount Television, and NHK. H24's adoption of Panasonic P2 technology is part of an initiative being launched with premier national channel RAI UNO, which produces the marketing leading news programme TG1.
"H24 has built its position in the Italian market on a combination of high-quality journalism and state-of-the-art facilities," said Mauro Parissone, Managing Director at H24.
"We chose Panasonic P2 cameras and solid-state storage because of the clear advantages P2 offers in workflow and in-the-field operation. These benefits will allow us to deliver the most outstanding quality of news coverage to RAI UNO's flagship TG1 news service."
H24 joins other prominent European and global broadcasters in adopting Panasonic P2 technology, including TF1 (France), Canal 4 and CNN Plus (Spain), Reuters, BSkyB, BBC, WDR, ZDF, and YLE.
ThroughoutEurope, fully 80% of the broadcasters that have made the switch to tapeless production methods have chosen P2 and P2HD as their acquisition format.
"As a leading newsgathering and facility provider, H24 is an important player in the Italian television industry," said Jaume Rey, European head of Business Unit, Professional & Broadcast Systems.
"H24's adoption of Panasonic P2 is a further sign that it is becoming the standard for progressive broadcasters building a platform for an innovative and successful future."
