Panasonic Ups P2 Card Recording Capacities

News Image
At NAB 2007 Panasonic will be showcasing new higher capacity additions to the low-maintenance P2 card family: the AJ-P2C016H 16-GB card and the AJ-P2C032H 32-GB card.
Panasonic ushered in a new era in broadcasting when it first unveiled the P2 professional plug-and-play card, which provides solid-state reliability while enabling fast IT file-based workflows. The P2 card’s extremely rugged construction, compact size, light weight, large capacity, and expandability bring a new degree of mobility to content creation.
A single AJ-P2C016H card provides record capacities of 16 minutes in DVCPRO HD, 40 minutes in native 24p in DVCPRO HD, 32 minutes in DVCPRO 50, and 64 minutes in DVCPRO. Available in May 2007, the AJ-P2C016H card offers greater recording flexibility for all production applications, using the whole line-up of Panasonic’s P2 camcorders. The MRRP will be announced at NAB 2007.
The larger capacity AJ-P2C032H 32GB card will provide 32 minutes of recording time in DVCPRO HD, 80 minutes in native 720p in DVCPRO HD, 64 minutes in DVCPRO 50, and 128 minutes in DVCPRO.
With its tremendous storage capacity and in-the-field flexibility, the AJ-P2C032H card offers exceptional versatility in all production applications. Like other P2 cards, the AJ-P2C032H mounts directly into the PC card slot on a PC, offering instant access to recorded material for non-linear editing or transfer without the need for subsequent digitisation.
When equipped with five AJ-P2C032H P2 cards, Panasonic’s top-of-the-range HD AJ-HPX2100 P2 camcorder will be able to record 160 minutes of 100-Mbps DVCPRO HD content.
