FlyingTV Soars Above The Competition

An aerial TV facility is celebrating this month, and not just because of its fourth anniversary.
FlyingTV has also just won the contract to provide aerials to Five's latest commission Superstars, made for the broadcaster by TWI.
FlyingTV is said to be the first to have introduced the UK TV industry to the concept of permanently equipped TV helicopters.
A spokesman said: "Since May 2004 we have delivered over 1,700 hours of aerial work for over 300 clients and seen our shots used in over 1,000 broadcasts across all the television genres.
"We've also just agreed to supply ITV's X Factor for the first time," he said, noting that they will also be transmitting live 'aerials' for ITV Sport at the UEFA Cup Final in Manchester on May 14.
"We continue to service leading productions such as BBC 2's award-winning Top Gear and live coverage for leading sports such as our third year (in June) for the BBC Derby coverage by Sunset+Vine and The Boat Race for ITV Sport.
"We fly some 60,000 miles a year with our two dedicated helicopters - the ability to be anywhere in the UK within a few hours means we can cover productions in any region."
The facility is based inside the M25, and while it is just minutes from central London the heli-tele can still be in Yorkshire within 90 minutes, or Bristol inside an hour.
Meanwhile, FlyingTV's unique all-digital Mastershot collection continues to grow.
"You can now surf over 300 stabilised aerials on our website and order royalty-free clips in high resolution broadcast standard.
"The latest to be added reflect our UK-wide operation : beautiful shots of the South Wales jewel - Rhosilli Bay, the Welsh capital's important buildings around Cardiff and bridges of the Severn Crossing and more London material - a total now of over 85 iconic day and night shots of the Capital," he continued.
"Unlike other collections, you can be assured that the entire collection is shot by us, chosen by us and graded by us to give you the best possible quality, using only our 21st Century helicopters, stabilised cameras and production process," he said noting another resource for broadcast: "Only our helicopters have the permanent technology to send broadcast output over 70 miles - direct from the scene to the broadcaster. No other UK operator comes close," he concluded.
