Indian Parliament Orders Autoscript
One of the world's best-known teleprompting companies, Autoscript, has announced that it will provide teleprompting technology for the Indian Parliament's TV news channel.
The order, concluded by Indian systems integrator Cinecita Comoptronics Industries Pvt Ltd, includes a conference teleprompter and a mobile system for Lok Sabha TV, the news and current affairs channel which provides exclusive daily coverage of events at India's Houses of Parliament.
According to Vinod Kaul, Technical Head, Lok Sabha TV: "The conference teleprompter will be used for covering the speeches of the President of India as well as the Prime Minister during public meetings.
"The mobile teleprompter is necessary for reading pre-planned scripts on outside locations and to help the talent deliver their lines confidently."
He explained that 90% of news broadcasters in India, including the national broadcaster Doordarshan TV network, utilise Autoscript for prompting.
"One of the reasons for choosing Autoscript was to maintain continuity with our existing set up which also features Autoscript teleprompters," added Mr Kaul.
"We had no problems technical or otherwise using this product in the past. This was a comforting reason to again opt for Autoscript's technology."
"Many of our client's appreciate that it does not require any skilled engineer to install and operate, and that it fully supports major news automation software like ENPS and i-News. In addition the wireless Receive And Transmit (RAT) hand control has become very popular, as it provides the news reader with ease of scrolling."
Lok Sabha TV covers debates in the lower house when the Parliament of India is in session.
During the month long recession it broadcasts programmes on various government programmes & policies, political as well as non-political discussions of common interest and documentaries.
Established in the 1936 and headquartered in Mumbai Cinecita Comoptronics serves the entire Indian market, one of the world's largest and most rapidly accelerating broadcast and audio visual industries. It was recently crowned Autoscript Distributor of the Year 2007.
