Vinten Radamec Closes Major Deal In Saudi Arabia

First Gulf Company (FGC), the contractors behind the ambitious project to begin HD broadcasts from the Holy Cities in time for Hajj, December 2008, signed a deal for a total of 31 Vinten Radamec robotic pan & tilt heads, at CABSAT in Dubai.
Vinten Radamec Broadcast Systems, a Vitec Group brand and part of Camera Dynamics, will be supplying 31 HS-105PE heads - with 21 sited at Mecca and 10 at Medina. The heads will be operating in conjunction with the fleet of Hitachi HD cameras also recently chosen for this project.
The Vinten Radamec HS-105PE is a special weatherproof version of the HS-105P head so is ideal for the harsh and varied climatic conditions in the region. It is suitable for various applications outside the studio environment and with its 34kg payload can be used with ENG size camera and lens configurations.
It is already widely used for ENG, parliamentary and conference applications and will now operate in the challenging outdoor environment of the Holy Cities where discreet and sensitive broadcasting is required.
The fast acceleration and angular velocity of the HS-105PE head makes it particularly versatile. It can also be mounted simply on a standard tripod or where required, wall mounted or inverted for suspension from ceilings.
It is also compatible with the latest Vinten Radamec Fusion Control System.
Walid Al-Mokhtar, General Manager of FGC, said: "We chose to work with Vinten Radamec for a number of important reasons, not only for their reputation for high quality, robust and reliable equipment but also because of their established track record working on large, prestigious projects like this and their ability to be flexible to the very particular requirements we have in the Holy Cities."
Vinten Radamec has extensive in the religious broadcasting sector having worked with many other religious organisations around the world, including the Grand Mosque in Abu-Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates where 7 x HS-102P and 5 x HS-105P heads were delivered in 2007.
Stefano Finessi, Director of Sales, EMEA Region for Camera Dynamics, said: "We are delighted and honoured to be part of such an important project for future broadcasting in the Middle East.
"This is a very challenging application, unique probably, in the way that the broadcasts will be conducted. Because of this, not only is the right equipment critical, but the locality of our Camera Dynamics Middle East Regional Sales office based in Kuwait, managed by Ahmad Nana, will also play a significant role in successfully managing this project. We are looking forward to working with the FGC team."
