Sony Speeds Away With 2waytraffic 'Millionaire' Gameshow

Sony has acquired 2waytraffic, the Dutch company that owns the rights to popular TV gameshow 'Who wants to be a Millionaire?' in a deal worth £137.5 million.
The Dutch indie which specialises in offering interactive viewing services, agreed to a takeover bid by the electronic giant's wing Sony Pictures.
The offer includes £144.3 million for the company's shares and £23.2 million in earn-out agreements for 2waytraffic's four founding members if they stay on until 2011.
2waytraffic bought the gameshow in December 2006, paying £106 million for the group of media companies behind the show.
Millionaire is licensed to more than 100 companies and the UK version, hosted by Chris Tarrant has held a primetime slot on ITV for the past ten years.
Other shows owned by 2waytraffic are 'You Are What You Eat', 'Brainiest' and 'Take it or Leave It'.
