Rapid Pictures complete facility and team expansion
Rapid Pictures have recently completed a major expansion to their Shepherd’s Bush facility.
A new dubbing suite and a voice over area has been commissioned, together with two further Avid suites, bringing the total offline count to twelve.
This follows the purchase in the summer of a second Avid Symphony from Root6, taking the number of online systems to four. Managing Director Jim Nichols said the expansion was essential following the success of Rapid’s new multimedia and DVD authoring department.
In line with the expansion, Darren Ali has joined Rapid as a senior editor and compositor. Formerly of Discreet, Ali will lead Rapid’s high-definition finishing and compositing team on Smoke.
Rapid’s established reputation in documentary has now extended into light entertainment, with new projects including Wildfire Television’s ‘Combat Cars’ for five and the forthcoming ‘Spy TV,’ Endemol UK's newly commissioned hidden camera show for BBC One.
