Autocue To Extend Prompter Range At Broadcast Live & Video Forum

Autocue, a leading provider of newsroom automation and teleprompting solutions, will further extend their most comprehensive and innovative range of prompters at Broadcast Live/Video Forum at Earl’s Court 2, London, 30 Jan – 1 February 2008.
Autocue’s new 'Starter Series' prompters are engineered specifically for the AV professional and emerging non-traditional broadcast markets, including smaller stations as well as corporate, religious and educational broadcasters.
By trading off some of the features of its 'Professional' series in line with customer feedback, the 10- and 17-inch Starter Series retains Autocue design and build quality at affordable prices.
Autocue CEO Frank Hyman said: "The Starter, Professional and Master Series’ provide end users with access to the broadest range of prompting solutions on the market. The decision to retain a consistent hood and mounting system throughout the ranges enables us to offer customers elegant upgrades. Software is no different with a simple and affordable upgrade path offered via the web. This approach allows customers to reduce the lifetime cost of their prompting solutions."
The Starter Series comes bundled with Autocue’s robust 'QStart' software, a single- prompt, single-script software application for those who only require straightforward editing capabilities.
Also at Broadcast Live/Video Forum, Autocue will highlight the IP-based “QMaster”, the world’s first and most resilient networked prompting system. By connecting the PC-based QMaster prompting application to a lightweight, discreet “QBox” hardware component over a wired, or wireless, Ethernet link, this revolutionary system unlocks a host of benefits in the studio and in the field.
Hyman added: "QMaster users need never again fear losing prompter output during a live production. In addition to this extra resilience, users worldwide have already experienced significant benefits from using QMaster including reduced costs of operation, versatility and freedom."
The combination of QMaster and the QBox means that prompting carries on regardless of power or control PC problems. QBox stores a copy of the latest running order or script and continues to control it (with a local hand control) until it is safe to seamlessly hand back to the controlling PC.
