Chroma Opts For Film Master

Digital Vision has announced that Germany’s Chroma Film & TV GmbH has bought a Film Master for its Hamburg-based facility.
Film Master is a resolution-independent, end-to-end, intuitive finishing system for feature films, commercials, long-form television, and restoration applications.
“It’s a new system for us. We’re installing a colour grading suite to fit the high level productions we are doing on HD, not only those shot on our new Sony F23 digital film camera, but also any media we get from outside,” said Chroma Post Production Supervisor, Gero Trusch. “It’s a totally new and very innovative tool that we expect to be further developed.”
Chroma has already used its new Film Master once so far on a 90-minute documentary feature, Trusch commenting that “the tools work really well and the speed of working was amazing.” The company is now looking to establish its Film Master suite as the leading grading facility for high-end film and TV production in the North German market and beyond.
“We are delighted that for its next stage of development it has chosen to install a grading suite based around our leading Film Master technology. The fact that it was deployed into a DVS infrastructure running on a Clipster with DVS storage demonstrates how open and flexible our systems are,” commented Simon Cuff, President and COO, Digital Vision.
