RTE seek production proposals from indies

As part of their commissions for the year 2003, RTÉ's Independent Productions Unit (IPU) are seeking proposals for factual, regional entertainment, music, children's and drama programmes.
With a deadline for applications of November 20, full details about submissions, programme types, applications forms and guidelines are available on the IPU's web pages at www.rte.ie/tv/ipu
RTÉ established the IPU as part of their response to the Broadcasting Authority (Amendment) Act 1993. It was created within the station's Television Programmes Division to "enhance the service to viewers by expanding the range and diversity of Irish-made programmes on screen and to foster new sources of creativity and energy within the independent television production sector."
The IPU works by commissioning programmes from a wide range of independent producers and these programmes have already become a key ingredient in the overall television schedule.
