Green Inc Wins Commission From RTÉ
Green Inc. Film and Television has won its fourth consecutive commission and a further 220 hours from RTÉ to produce its flagship magazine programme: 'The Afternoon Show'.
The commission follows the huge success of the third series, which saw audience share increase on previous years and helped boost the coveted homeowners demographic for RTÉ One. It also builds on Green Inc.’s position as a leading producer of live factual entertainment programming.
Re-commissioned by Grainne McAleer, Commissioning Editor Daytime & Lifestyle and Director of Television, Clare Duigan, at RTÉ, The Afternoon Show will again be hosted by popular female presenters Sheana Keane and Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh.
The fourth season is produced by series producer Siobhan O’Gorman, who produced GMTV for over five years and whose other credits include LK Today, The Lorraine Show for Sky One, Gourmet Ireland for BBC Northern Ireland and The Really Useful Show for BBC One.
Stephen Stewart, Managing Director of Green Inc., said: "We’re delighted to be continuing our relationship with RTÉ. After four series, The Afternoon Show has retained its position and popularity in the nation’s psyche. We look forward to creating an even bigger and better audience share for RTE with this next series."
The new series will be transmitted until June 2009. The Afternoon Show features lifestyle, information and fun in a straight-talking magazine format, covering everything from current affairs to cookery, with topicality, public participation and wit all essential to the mix.
