Pixel Farm To Launch Next Version Of PFClean At IBC

The Pixel Farm has announced it will be launching the next version of its resolution independent, automated film review and clean up system PFClean, at IBC 2007.
Fast becoming the tool of choice for DI facilities and Film restoration companies, version 3.0 adds video ingest and layoff, field based image support and a fully GPU accelerated toolset. PFClean now meets the demands of both the film and video market and its significant presence within the industry is further demonstrated by recent sales which Technicolor, CinePost, UTV and Galaxy Studios.
PFClean 3.0 software is now available for both Intel based Macs and Windows with an optional Film Restoration Package. In addition, a new desk side turnkey system is also available featuring fully GPU accelerated tools and thus providing up to a 10 x increase in processing speed. The system has an optional 4.4.4 video IO module that allows ingest and layoff of SD and HD video material. PFClean 3.0's improved architecture now provides an ideal environment for those working with both progressive and interlaced material.
The price of PFClean software has been reduced with the optional Film Restoration Pack costing extra. The entry level turn key system price has also been reduced with the optional Video IO module costing extra.
Richard Spohrer, MD, The Pixel Farm, said: "Since NAB, we have spent our time developing software that addresses the needs of those working in formats other than film. Version 3.0 delivers this, plus additional and significant over all speed improvement. Our support for Windows and OSX platforms, along with the new pricing repositions, means PFClean software is a cost effective and valuable tool for everyone. We have redesigned our turnkey system to provide hardware accelerated tools for the more demanding end of the market, while again providing a very cost effective platform."
With a flexible and non-destructive workflow, PFClean allows creative decisions to be made right up until final delivery, within a colour calibrated environment. GPU accelerated processing mean tasks such as grain reduction and matching, clean up and colour correction are no longer time consuming opperations.
The PFClean batch/command line system - first seen in v2.5. - can be used as a stand alone application to automatically clean footage, with the full range of PFClean tools or as an extension to a current PFClean system, so adding extra processing power. Using a fast interconnect, adding an extra node is as simple as 'plug and play'.
PFClean is the most advanced applications in its class, once again confirming The Pixel Farm as one of the most innovative software companies in the field of VFX and post production.
