Rushes make good 'The Getaway'

Rushes have completed work on the new promo for The Music's latest track, 'The Getaway'.
It opens with front man Robert Harvey singing in what appears a round tunnel. As the music gets going there are flashes of white light and crowds of people running down the tunnel towards the band. Water is running down the walls. As the running crowd approaches the band, they attempt to run through Harvey, but are unable. We see a close up of a man falling back down the tunnel, tumbling through the air, into the infinite darkness.
As the music continues the running crowd regains momentum. This time the same guy succeeds in running through the lead singer. With the bright ‘heavenly’ light behind, it is a spectacular finish to this great promo.
Rushes' Duncan Malcolm said: “The treatment for The Music’s most recent release “Getaway” was, by anyone’s standards, extremely involved both on location and in postproduction. Producer Luke Copeland and the directors approached Rushes as early as possible and together worked through the boards, with an eye on effect-shot elements. The shoot was over two days, but with the effect-shots having at least three set-ups each."
A single section of tunnel was created in Rushes 3D department. The 3D Mesh was then imported into Flame, extended and textured using rushing water and clay samples. This infinite tunnel was then lit to achieve the desired mood. The decision to create the environment mainly in the Flame was made to give maximum flexibility and so as not to restrict the director’s choice of angles. In addition, effects for the “running through” moments and for the “heavenly” environment were designed in Flame.
The resulting film is a high energy narrative piece with the postproduction giving it a highly stylised feel.
