Stewart Till In Running For ITV's Top Job

United International Pictures chief Stewart Till, responsible for bringing hit films such as 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' to UK screens, is the latest name in contention to become the new chief executive of ITV.
Till has been contacted by Zygos Partnership, the headhunters drawing up a shortlist for the ITV job, according to news reports.
ITV Chief Executive, Charles Allen, formally leaves the company early next year after an interim period, beginning at the start of next month, during which he hands over day-to-day control to the finance director, John Cresswell, but continues to act as a consultant.
Other potential candidates include the Johnston Press chairman, Roger Parry, ITV non-executive director Mike Clasper and former Ofcom chief executive Stephen Carter.
Till has worked in the film business for the past 14 years, but before that worked in TV and advertising notebly Saatchi & Saatchi.
Between 1988 and 1990 Till was Deputy Managing Director of Sky Television, during the period when it launched its UK satellite TV service and then merged with BSB to form BSkyB.
After this he oversaw BSkyB's movie channels for two years, before joining PolyGram Filmed Entertainment in 1992 as president of its international business.
Till is also chairman of the UK Film Council.
