Flying TV Zooms Onto YouTube UK Community
The UK's busiest aerial filming specialists, FlyingTV, have joined the YouTube community, coinciding with the launch of the new YouTube UK this week.
The FTV dedicated channel will display short but dramatic clips from recent aerial filming - sometimes raw, sometimes as transmitted.
"Streaming video is now a major player in UK media with 80% of UK internet users watching video. This consumes some 10% of their online time. YouTube's launch in the UK gives us a global platform where we can display what we do and provide viewers with a huge variety of video shot from the air. In the few days since we launched there have been nearly 1000 views of our channel," said Mike Smith, Managing Director of FTV.
"We know from our broadcast work that there is a thirst for high quality aerial video. We fly some 600 hrs per year over the UK in 2 helicopters with cameras always on. So we can promise YouTube users some unusual views. And the instant ratings system will show us what the users like most."
